Ingredients

  • 5 cups apple juice
  • 2 ½ cups whole milk
  • ½ cup instant gelatin, divided in half
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp maca powder
  • Edible glitter flakes, optional decoration

DIRECTIONS

    Pour half of the apple juice in a heavy-bottomed pan. Bring to a boil over medium heat and stir in half of the gelatin. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly. Add half of the maca powder and cook for another 2 minutes.

    Remove from the heat and divide among serving glasses. Cool completely.

    Now, heat the milk over medium heat and stir in gelatin. Gently simmer for 2-3 minutes and add sugar. Continue to cook for another 1-2 minutes. Pour the milk mixture over the chilled apple juice mixture and cool completely again.

    Finally, bring the remaining apple juice to a boil and stir in gelatin. Cook for a couple of minutes and then add maca powder. Continue to cook for another minute and remove from the heat. Pour over chilled layers and refrigerate until use.

This elegant and creamy maca golden jello is an absolute must have at every New Year’s table. It includes jiggly milk and apple juice layers with some maca powder which is a perfect energy booster for the craziest night of the year. We have decided to use classic sweetened apple juice because of a beautiful golden tone it gives to this fantastic treat but if you have some spare time you can prepare several different combinations with cherry, blueberry or any other juice you have. You can also add a teaspoon of Zen Spirit Matcha Powder to the white layer and get a delicious green jello everybody will love. Furthermore, you can prepare the third layer with champagne instead of apple juice for the best adult New Year’s treat.

This beautiful treat requires some extra work with the glasses. Decorating glasses with some edible flakes will transform this treat into a sparkling beauty everybody will want to try. Simply dip each glass into corn syrup, agave nectar, or coconut syrup and sprinkle with decorative flakes. Chill the glasses in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before use and you’re good to go.
