Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup ground quick oats
  • 1 cup dates, pitted
  • ¼ cup almonds
  • 1 tbsp maca powder
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter

Utensils

  • Food processor
  • Mixing bowl

DIRECTIONS

    Place rolled oats in a food processor and process until fine mince. Transfer to a bowl and set aside.

    Now, add almonds to a food processor and process until completely smooth. Add to a bowl and then process dates. They should be sticky enough to hold the ingredients together.

    Now combine all the ingredients together until completely smooth and slightly sticky. Shape balls, approximately 1-inch in diameter and serve immediately.

I'm always looking for a good energy balls recipe because they're extremely easy to prepare, loaded with so many different nutrients, and above all – these fantastic snacks reduce my afternoon sugar cravings to a minimum.

This particular recipe is based on my favorite combination of ingredients – creamy peanut butter and sweet dates that work perfectly together.

Adding one tablespoon of maca powder will significantly increase the overall health benefits of this recipe and give you an extra dose of energy you wish to see in classic energy balls.

Oats can be replaced with any other ground grains you have on hand or even some minced almonds or walnuts (or even a combination of both) as long as you keep the dry/wet ingredients ratio in balance.

Optionally, add a few drops of vanilla extract and enjoy!
